# Briard-AI and KAIDAN buyer guide

Start here. Briard-AI helps your team keep its AI rules, owners and evidence together. KAIDAN helps your team review AI alerts, investigate cases and record what happened. Neither service guarantees that every incident will be found or that a customer is compliant.

## Keep four kinds of statement separate

- **Production evidence:** a dated result for a named deployed version and the specific path checked. It is not a promise that every customer connection works.
- **Hosted engineering tests:** automated checks, sometimes using real database and provider software with fictional resources. These are not customer trials or an outside assessment.
- **Configured behavior:** a feature exists, but its permissions, source connection, storage, keys or delivery destination still need the right setup. A missing connection stays unknown.
- **Planned work:** no completed result is claimed. [Independent assurance](./assurance-roadmap.md) and customer field validation remain separate future work.

## Before you buy

Check the workspace, covered AI systems, monthly price, allowed data and responsibility split. For KAIDAN, confirm the actual sources and response targets your organization authorizes. Approval of an add-on is not proof that a source is connected. A queued response or a provider's accepted reply is not proof that the intended effect occurred.

The standard Briard subscription is hosted; it does not require you to run servers. A customer-controlled KAIDAN deployment or export destination has separate responsibilities and costs. The free launch-year offer does not make third-party services free.
